  • 1 lb white fish fillets (tilapia or cod)
  • 2 tbsp blackening spice mix (paprika, cayenne pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, thyme, oregano)
  • 8 small corn or flour tortillas
  • 1 cup shredded cabbage
  • 1 medium tomato, diced
  • 1 avocado, sliced
  • ½ cup sour cream or Greek yogurt
  • Juice of 1 lime

Instructions

  1. Preheat a cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat for about 5 minutes.
  2. Pat the fish fillets dry and season both sides generously with the blackening spice mix.
  3. Add 1 tbsp oil to the hot skillet and place the seasoned fish in it. Cook for 3-4 minutes per side until blackened and cooked through.
  4. While the fish cooks, wrap tortillas in foil and warm them in a preheated oven at 350°F for about 5 minutes.
  5. Once cooked, break the fish into bite-sized pieces and place them on warm tortillas.
  6. Top with shredded cabbage, diced tomatoes, sliced avocado, and drizzle with sour cream mixed with lime juice.
